I am reaching my age 38 years old and a single man who lives with his family, brother(s), mother, etc but I am unmarried and have no children on my own. My question is, if I want to adopt a Muslim child how hard is it for me to adopt? I live in Canada. Is it expensive to adopt (I am asking only to know how much I need to save up)? Is it possible for a single man to adopt? What is the ruling in Islamic Shariah for a Muslim man to adopt a child on his own? Finally, if all the above indicate is possible..please could someone point me where do I go and start for adoption? I love being a parent and since I don’t have a kid of my own, I would really love to be a guardian.

You might be better off fostering…do you not want to get married?

A – The cost of adoption depends on a number of variables: the type of adoption you undertake, whether you work with an agency, the province you reside in and any associated travel costs. It costs very little to adopt through the public child welfare system in Canada.

Range of Adoption Costs

Public (foster care): $0 – $3,000

Licensed Private Agency: $10,000 – $20,000

International: $20,000 – $30,000
